About McKenzie Friends
A McKenzie friend is normally a lay person who can assist you with planning and executing a family law ( such as child contact) or criminal case, grievance and disciplinary/ capability proceedures. Unlike a lawyer they normally have no formal legal training but many have experience of having gone through the process themselves which can be advantageous.
Some have completed courses to learn more about the process. They are a much cheaper option than a solicitor but may not be not as versatile or regulated. This does not mean that a better or worse result is achieved however, as civil courts and particularly family courts are so variable in their verdicts.
Experienced in both Family and Criminal Law procedures and processes. Claire has previously worked as both a Probation Officer and in Children's Services for over 18 years. She has been involved with HR issues including investigating disciplinary and grievance procedures. All of which enable her to assist and advise to try to achieve the best outcome for you and your family.
